Suicide is a leading cause of death in this country.  It is the 2^nd leading cause of death for youth taking 6000 young lives each year. For every death by suicide, it is estimated 25 others attempt. This amounts to over 1 million Americans each year who survive a suicide attempt. While these statistics are staggering, the good news is there is much we can do to prevent suicide. Everyone can play a role in keeping people safe and getting them connected to resources.
