IMPORTANT HALLOWEEN REMINDERS: As we prepare for our Halloween celebrations on Friday, October 30, please review these important reminders to help the afternoon run smoothly:
Lunch Plans: All families must complete the form HERE, including those whose children typically have a visual handoff at dismissal. Students will not be dismissed for lunch without this information.
Returning from Lunch: Students leaving OPS for lunch from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM should not return before 12:45 PM, as supervision at the doors will not begin until that time.
Students Not Celebrating Halloween: If your child does not celebrate Halloween but will remain at OPS for the afternoon, please notify their teacher so we can plan alternative, Halloween-free activities.
NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! FIELD TRIP COMMUNICATIONS: As field trips get underway, we want to clarify when families can expect arrival notifications. To streamline communication, OPS will send text notifications confirming students’ arrival only for trips to destinations more than 25 miles from school, such as Sharpe Reservation, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Bronx Zoo. For local trips, such as Thielke Arboretum, Veolia Water, and Demarest Farms, we will not send arrival or return notifications. As always, families will be contacted if there are any unexpected delays or concerns.
