Assistant Principal (Grades PreK-2)
Michael Hagopian is delighted to serve in the role of assistant principal after joining the OPS administrative team in 2015 when he served as the supervisor of instruction. Previous to his arrival at OPS, Mr. Hagopian was a classroom teacher in the Westwood Regional School District where he taught grades one and five. Based on his experiences, he understands the academic and social challenges related to teaching students at different developmental levels. During his time in Westwood, he completed his administrative internship and demonstrated his knowledge of effective instructional practices.
Mr. Hagopian has a firm belief that by establishing close relationships among staff, students, and families, we can cohesively strengthen our school community and provide children with a safe and rigorous learning environment. Mr. Hagopian earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Dominican College, a Master of Science in Teaching Elementary and Special Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, and most recently a Master of Science in Educational Leadership at St. Thomas Aquinas College. He is committed to work tirelessly to be sure that the educational goals of OPS are reached and the needs of students, teachers, and families are met.
